O-CITY, an innovative automated fare collection platform powered by BPC and adopted by over 120 cities worldwide is exhibiting at the ICT Cairo that took place from 22-25 November, 2020.
ICT Cairo 2020 is MEA’s leading trade exhibition and forum that features latest trends vital for any economy and its people such as Smart Connected Cities, Cybersecurity, Mobile Communication, AI, Big Data and Cloud Management. Entering in its 24th year, ICT Cairo consisted of 550+ exhibitors, 18+ exhibiting countries and over 133 speakers. Despite the pandemic, the show has been maintained this year with strict social distancing rules.
Staying aligned with the featured trend on Smart Connected Cities, O-CITY displayed its platform that has made the concept of connecting cities through public transport a more promising thought. Connecting cities in the midst of a pandemic, digital ticketing and payment have become a challenging affair for many countries. O-CITY allows public transport authorities to migrate from cash and closed loop transport cards to open account based architecture in a very short period of time. This converts into a solution for the present challenges and enables digital and cashless transformation in the most massive market of payment environment.
During the event, the team from O-CITY by BPC implemented real life demos on ticketing hardware with automated gates that were equipped using intelligent validators that accepted contactless banking cards and QR codes. The representatives also conducted a presentation that consisted of mobile applications for reservation of tickets and generation of QR codes and virtual cards. By displaying these offerings that are built in- house, visitors were able to experience the working of this technology while they used banking cards on entry gates placed at the booth, tested mobile devices for ticket issuing and experienced an unbeatable journey through their mobile applications.
